The Pride Center understands that Domestic Violence can happen to anyone regardless of gender identity, sexual identity, race/ethnicity, or age. That is why the Pride Center of WNY, the LGBT DV Committee of WNY, and Haven House have entered into a partnership that allows LGBT individuals to access resources and services for victims of intimate partner violence without fear of discrimination.
Haven House, long known as a resource for women who were domestic violence victims, has recognized the need to reach out to LGBT individuals who have been victimized as well. Currently, Haven House offers shelter to both women and trans-women (MTF). Unfortunately, men & trans-men (FTM) cannot seek shelter through Haven House. However,Haven House does have LGBT affirmative counselors who will counsel anyone regardless of gender identity.
If you are a victim of intimate partner violence, please contact Haven House 24 -Hour Domestic Violence Hotline at (716) 884-6000
