The Pride Center of WNY, Inc. is looking to hire people for our new Transgender Health Initiative focused on providing effective interventions to address HIV/STI/Hepatitis C prevention, education, screening, and care coordination.
P-T Administrative Assistant – Pride Center of WNY
The Administrative Assistant for the Transgender Health Initiative provides reception, clerical, data entry, organizational, and client contact support for the program. Must demonstrate ability to communicate clearly and professionally; sensitivity to gender identity, gender expression, HIV/AIDS and LGBT issues is essential. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds to safely manage equipment and supplies. Associates degree, one year’s experience in support and/or human service positions, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in Microsoft Access and Excel a plus.
Outreach Coordinator – Pride Center of WNY
The Outreach Coordinator for the Transgender Health Initiative is responsible for recruiting clients for HIV/STI/Hepatitis C prevention, education, screening, and care coordination through outreach. The Outreach Coordinator will conduct client intakes, work with the Outreach Specialists and Peers, facilitate evidence based interventions, and make referrals to testing and other services. Ability to follow-up with providers and clients to ensure linkages with appropriate supportive or preventive services essential. Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field required; Master’s degree preferred. Two years experience working with the transgender, lesbian, gay, and bisexual communities required. Supervisory experience necessary; sensitivity to gender identity, gender expression, HIV/AIDS and LGBT issues is essential. Must have a vehicle, be willing to travel and work flexible hours.
